    About Wandee

I’m Wandee, a Bangkok-born guide who has spent over a decade sharing Thai culture, history, and everyday life with visitors from across the world.

I am passionate about introducing guests not just to Thailand’s famous landmarks, but to the quieter, less-visited places that most tourists never find — a neighbourhood market, a centuries-old temple tucked behind a busy street, a riverside village a short drive from the city.

Every tour I lead is planned with care. I want you to leave feeling that you truly experienced Thailand, not just passed through it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is it worth hiring a private tour guide in Bangkok? Yes — and particularly so in Bangkok, where landmarks like the Grand Palace attract very large crowds. A private guide helps you move more efficiently, provides context that signs and audio guides can’t match, and can suggest the best times to visit each site. You’ll also get genuine local recommendations for food, transport, and off-the-beaten-track spots that you simply won’t find in a guidebook.

What is the best Bangkok tour for first-time visitors? Most first-time visitors choose a temple tour taking in the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun — Bangkok’s three most iconic landmarks, all within easy reach of each other along the Chao Phraya River. I recommend combining this with a longtail boat ride and a visit to a local market for a well-rounded introduction to the city.

Can I customise my tour? Absolutely — every Wandee Tour is fully flexible from the start. Before your visit, we will discuss your interests, how much time you have, and anything you particularly want to see or avoid. On the day itself, we can also adjust the plan if something catches your eye or you want to spend longer somewhere.

Do you offer day trips outside Bangkok?

Yes — some of Thailand’s most memorable experiences are within reach of Bangkok as a day trip. Popular choices include Ayutthaya, the ancient former capital of Thailand and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (around 1.5 hours from Bangkok), and Kanchanaburi, home to the Bridge on the River Kwai and the stunning Erawan Falls (around 2.5–3 hours each way, so we start early to make the most of the day). The floating markets at Damnoen Saduak or Amphawa are also a favourite, and closer to the city.

I will plan everything around the journey time so you arrive relaxed and have plenty of time to enjoy each destination.

How many days do you need in Bangkok? For first-time visitors, I recommend at least 3–4 days in Bangkok to experience the main highlights without feeling rushed. This allows one day for temples and the river, one for markets and local neighbourhoods, and one for a day trip outside the city. If you have more time, Bangkok always rewards deeper exploration.

How far in advance should I book a private tour?

The earlier you get in touch, the better — not just to secure your date, but because the best tours take a little time to plan well. Booking ahead gives us the chance to discuss your interests properly and put together an itinerary you’ll really love, rather than rushing the details. During Bangkok’s busy travel season (November to February) availability fills up quickly, so I would always recommend reaching out as soon as your travel dates are confirmed. That said, if your trip is coming up soon, please do send me a message — I will always do my best to help where I can.

What languages do you guide in? I guide in English. My communication style is clear, friendly, and tailored to each guest — whether you’re keen to learn about history and culture in depth, or simply want a relaxed and enjoyable day out.

What makes Wandee Tours different from other Bangkok tour companies? Wandee Tours is not a tour company with multiple guides and group packages — You will be working directly with your guide from first contact. With over 10 years of experience and a TAT licence, I offer the knowledge of a professional guide with the personal attention of a local friend showing you around.
